Vocabulary #7 *REVISED*

Since I was absent on the AVID trip for 3 days Erica and Izamar posted Vocabulary #7 on their blogs and incorporated the words into our tale. I posted these definitions for my own benefit.



Shenanigans: noun. Mischief, prankishness, deceit, trickery

Ricochet: noun. Motion of an object or projectile in  rebounding or deflecting one or more times 

Schism: noun. Division or disunion, especially into mutually opposed parties; parties formed

Eschew: verb. To abstain or keep away from; shun, avoid

Plethora: noun. Overabundance; excess

Ebullient: adjective. Overflowing with fervor, enthusiasm, or excitement; high-spirited 

Garrulous: adjective. Excessively talkative in rambling roundabout matter

Harangue: noun. Scolding or a long or intense verbal attack, passionate; discourse

Interdependence: quality or condition of being interdependent

Capricious: adjective. Subject to, led by, erratic, unpredictable change; obsolete

Loquacious: adjective. Talking or tending to talk much or freely; talkative, wordy 

Ephemeral: adjective. Lasting or short time, short-lived; transitory 

Inchoate: adjective. Not completed or fully developed; just begun; not organized

Juxtapose: verb. To place close together or side by side, by comparison or contrast

Perspicacious: adjective. Having keen mental perception & understanding; discerning, archaic

Mungo: noun. A low-grade wool from felted rags or waste

Wonky: adjective. British slang. Shaky, groggy, or unsteady; stupid, boring

Sesquipedalian: adjective. given to using long words
